Getting started
Set up HiveNest for a HivePress listing form.
From download to your first working conditional rule. HiveNest runs in Safe Mode — it shows and hides the fields HivePress already renders, without touching your theme templates.
- Step 1
Download HiveNest
Grab the current beta ZIP from the download page. The free version of HivePress and a compatible theme are all you need alongside it.
- Step 2
Install the ZIP in WordPress
In WordPress Admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose hivenest.zip, then install and activate it. Updates are currently manual — upload a newer ZIP the same way.
- Step 3
Install and activate HivePress if needed
HiveNest requires HivePress. If it is not active yet, install the free HivePress plugin and a HivePress-compatible theme such as ListingHive, and create your listing attributes.
- Step 4
Create your first rule — no license needed
HiveNest works without a license for 1 active rule, so you can build and test your first rule right away.
- Step 5
Optional: buy and activate a license
A Single Site ($10/year) or Unlimited Sites ($60/year) license unlocks unlimited active rules. In WP Admin → HiveNest → License, paste your HNST-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX key, click Activate License, and use Check Status after purchasing or upgrading.
- Step 6
Build the rule
In HiveNest → Rules → Add New Rule, choose the trigger attribute (e.g. Manufacturer), set the condition (equals BMW), and pick the child fields to show. The live preview reads the rule back in plain English.
- Step 7
Test submit and edit forms
Open the front-end Add Listing form: child fields should appear only when the trigger matches, and hidden required fields should never block submission. Repeat on the Edit Listing form.
- Step 8
Check Compatibility if something does not show
HiveNest → Compatibility analyses every active rule against your HivePress attributes and flags missing attributes, unmatched trigger values, and fields that are not editable.
